Michael King is a retired teacher. His interests in poetry and fiction are rooted in his experiences of growing up in South Africa in apartheid South Africa and then in the democratic nation which replaced it. Apart from his career in schools, he has been an editor of a number of magazines and journals publishing poetry and fiction both at school level and beyond.
